From February 2010 the House published a searchable database of payments. The database covers the periods from 2008/09 onwards and now extends to the third quarter of 2009/10.

It is currently linked to the scans of documents submitted in support of claims made against:

• Additional Costs Allowance (ACA) - paid to reimburse Members for necessary costs incurred when staying overnight away from their main home in each year from 2004/05 to 2008/09
• Personal Additional Accommodation Expenditure (PAAE which replaced the ACA in April 2009) - paid to reimburse Members for necessary costs incurred when staying overnight away from their main home.
• Communications Allowance for 2008/09 - designed to help Members communicate proactively with their constituents about their work in furtherance of their parliamentary duties.

The scans for claims relating to Incidental Expenses Provision (IEP) for 2008/09 will be published later in the year, as will the remaining PAAE scans for the remaining quarters of 2009/10.

Above is a search engine with a set of four criteria that allow the following selections to be made:

1. Year (mandatory) and, optionally, a monthly period.
2. One, several or all MPs. Selection of a single MP can be made via a predictive text search field, or via a check-box. Multiple check-boxes can be used to select several MPs. Results will then be summarised and a total provided in the search results. It is also possible to select all MPs, but the results may take some time to be processed.
3. One, several or all allowances relating to the MP or MPs and periods selected above.
4. One, several or all expenses relating to the selections made above. Only expenses types applicable to the allowance or allowances selected will be displayed.

The available scans have been edited to remove information which could cause serious security issues or breach the privacy of the MP, their staff and other third parties.

A link on the left hand side of the page provides a list of the geographical location of MPs' current ACA/PAAE home - either in London or the constituency. It also indicates if the location changed during 2008/09 or 2009/10, including if that change was within the same geographical area.

Additional links provide totals by Member for:

• Travel costs
• Stationery and postage costs
• Details of catering functions and events hosted by Members
• Repayments made against all claim types
• Net totals, reflecting the repayments made against the original claims.
